Women Make History in America’s Senate

Congratulations!
Lots to learn from the women’s strategies. But for sure, speak not for your party but for the women you represent.
The 113th Congress will have at least 19 female senators, the most ever in U.S. history. Joining the Senate will be Republican Deb Fischer (Neb.) and Democrats Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Mazie Hirono (Hawaii) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) All six Democratic women up for reelection — Sens. Maria Cantwell (Wash.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.) and Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) — won their races. Five Republican female candidates lost on Tuesday…next Congress will have just four female Republican senators.

  1. Hello Ms. Sochea. I’m not sure how else to contact you, but I’m an American working in northeastern Cambodia on land rights issues. In light of the recent elections, I started a petition to President Obama on http://www.change.org. I would really appreciate it if you would sign this petition and spread the word.

I will be visiting the North east and would like to talk with you about how best to get the message to the people.

When the opposition leader met the Cambodian American community in North Carolina last week, over 1,000 came to the meeting. Almost all of them are Montagnards from Rattnak Kiri and Mondol Kiri.
