Cambodia National Rescue Party Platform – Investing in Social Sector and Free and Fair Access to Public Services

Investing in social sectors that include health, education start with fair access and free access for all. Present privatization of these 2 sectors kill the poor and further wider the gap between rich and poor. It is also about value and dignity and opportunity.

Economic land concessions tax and 50 tax of casino revenues is fair as it does not the poor (majority of the population) nor the middle-class(small portion of the population).

Economic concessions that are mainly a front for illegal logging- a million dollar- business and concessions that have remained idle for years must be reviewed.

Casinos in Cambodia are very lucrative business. it is taxing on money of foreigners.

Efficient collection of tax and tight control of collected tax is also how the CNRP will increase national budget for the social sector.

Using national budget as capital for companies of croonies of the ruling party , i.e. 720 million US dollars in 2011 investing in rice mill associations owned by tycoons of the ruling party while our farmers can not even meet their production costs is a very unfair and waste of national budget.

We propose: saving the farmers by reducing cost production and interest free loans for farming equipment.
