Disaster Management Law Adopted

Today in parliament I asked for an immediate stop to the massive deforestation and logging of tycoon Try Pheap closely connected to high ranking officials of the ruling party.

I also asked for the govt. to assist the most at risk victims of floods , I.e. The disabled, the elderly and destitute women by :

Paying for their loans taken from micro- finance institutions;
Delaying loan payments;
Decreasing interest rate to no more than 12% per year instead of 35-40%.

2011floods in Cambodia affected 1.2 million people;
2012 1.8 million victims;
2013 over 10, 000 families affected.

Many of these victims have not yet recuperated from the previous floods now heading to Thailand as undocumented migrant workers.
