This is totally unacceptable for the following reasons:
1/ it can never be an independent and neutral investigation;
2/ the words of the PM are a signal for the judges to decide on the final,decision;
3/ violence can never, never be justified;
4/ who,is the PM defending? Did he not condemn the act of violence when he appeared on TV?
5/ the attackers are known to be members of the armed forces or the body guard unit;
6/ why were the police not protecting the lawmakers under assault?
THIS SHOWS EVEN MORE THAT THE UN MUST PLAY A ROLE IF THE LAWMAKERS ARE TO RECIEVE JUSTICE.
IF THE SPOKESPERSON OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR SAYS THAT HE WOULD HAVE ” USED A GUN” ON THE LAWMAKERS, THE INVESTIGATING TEAM SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE DISSOLVED AND THE SPOKESPERSON SHOULD RESIGN. THEY ARE ALL FROM THE SAME INSTITUTION.
CNRP SENIOR LAWMAKERS APPROACHED DEPUTY-PRIME MINISTER SAR KHENG TO WARN HIM OF POSSIBLE UNREST BUT HE DID NOT TAKE ACTION. THERE WERE SIGNS OF TROUBLE WHEN THERE WAS CLOSE TO NO POLICE PRESENCE OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON 26 October.
